What are Going Long or Short?

Going Long is when a Forex trader buys the base currency and sells the quote currency. The Forex trader will want the base currency to rise in value and sell it back at a higher price.
Long = Buy
Going Short is when a Forex trader sells the base currency and buys the quote currency. The Forex trader will want the base currency to fall in value and then buy it back at a lower price.
Short = Sell
